Description

BALAM Dance Theatre presents Live Baroque Music and Dance as part of Midtown Concerts, a Gotham Early Music Scene (GEMS) program. Featuring Period music from England, Scotland, Italy, and Peru, the concert will be live streamed and archived for public viewing on GEMS’ YouTube and Facebook channels. Program • Four Corantos (world premiere), excerpts from John Jenkins (1592-1678) Lyra Viol Manuscript • Scottish Tunes by Francesco Barsanti (1690-1775), • El Bosque (New York City premiere) featuring Toccata Arpeggiata by Giovanni Kaspberger (1580-1651), • Fandango (New York City premiere) by Matias Maestro (1766-1835). All music will be performed by The Musicians of BALAM, Lisa Terry and Ryan Closs. Carlos Fittante will dance in Period costumes.
